I make a 10% bleach in water solution (hot water) and soak the carpet for 30 minutes. Then I use a scrub brush to remove any poo clumps still stuck on it, rinse it out really really well until it no longer smells like bleach, and hang it to dry.

Ok but wouldent the bleach change the color of the carpet?

Not at that low of a concentration. I used to do it once a week when I used cage carpet. I honestly don't like cage carpet- it gets smelly way too fast. But if you only have a few snakes and don't mind the heavy upkeep it isn't bad.
Look up something called F10. You can get it from a vet. It`s super strong but also super safe. It won`t stain, burn or anything. It`s colourless, odourless and totally inert. Unless you`re a bug, or a virus or a bacteria etc..... :)
