congrats i found that perlite held the humidity better but works well to. Keep a eye on your girl even if you have separated her from the male because she can still lay eggs all season, mine did. also make sure that your upping her calcium, the egg producing uses calcium. i feed a pinkie mouse with a little calcium powder. all if your going to keep them together keep a eye on how aggressive the male i on her mine was mating 5-6times a day this was causing alot of stress and she stopped eating. good luck with the eggs

put a bottle cap or somthing and fill it with calcium powder and they ill lick eat it like that. perilite is best beacause vermiculite can grow mold, just a tip for future eggs you hatch.

i didnt know that perlite was more "mold-resistant". i have her on a crickets and some worms, calcium is dusted and left out for her and she's also on a high protein-calcium-rich slurry which i've been giving her because she wouldn't eat, now i know why but i might keep her on it just because its easy to feed her that way and i know shes getting the nutrients she needs. shes dropped only two so far.

she will lay about every 10-14 days mine would not eat for about 4-5 days before and was ravenous a day after laying used a clear Tupperware half filled with moist coconut fiber. this way you can take out the Tupperware and you will be able to see the eggs from the bottom, when she is ready to lay she will dig a hole to bury the eggs then fill in the hole! i always could tell cause when she started digging i knew she was going to lay and would just wait till she filled in the hole. REMEMBER keep the eggs in the same position the she laid them after a couple of days mark the top with a sharpie so you know what end is up!( if you have a bunch of eggs when they start to hatch the new babies might turn over some unhatched eggs these will die if not corrected

thanks for the info, wondering if anyone knows how long they take to hatch. i've read anywhere from 28 days to 105... i thought it was around 6-8 weeks but would like some confirmation lol

@ 87 you should see eggs starts to hatch in about 45 days. Hatchlings will be mostly males.

79f-mostly female
85f-87f-equal ratio males/females
90f-males

its only the first 21days'temp that determine the sex after that you can change the temp and it wont affect the sex of the hatchlings

if you are breeding for youself and you have a male incubate females for youself because males cant be housed together but females can, if you are selling them it doesnt matter males can be together first couple months. Above 90f also gives you females but i dont recommend it they very aggresive (believe me i know)
:) i love Leos have 6females this season i cant wait to start breeding season
