Is a 40 gallon breeder too small for a adult male jungle carpet python? The guy I got him from said that would be perfect, but what I'm reading online says I need a 4x2x2. Any suggestions?

How big is your snake? I have a 8 foot female jungle (has thick as the fat in of a baseball bat) in a 4x2x1 cage and it work just find. How big is a 40 gal breeder?

He's only a baby now in a 20 gallon long. (30x12x12) and I'm going to get a 40 gallon (36x18x16) when he gets bigger. Or should I get something taller than it is long? And one more thing, he is having some shedding problems. When i got him a couple weeks ago I figured i could just soak a bit and keep his humidity up, but after several soakings and a constant humidity of 70%, his excess skin has still not come off. Its not flakey, you really wouldn't even be able to tell if not for the difference in color. Anyways I feel like a noob having all these questions and problems, but I'm open to any suggestions and greatly appreciate yall's response. Thanks

For an adult jungle a 4x2x2 would be fine, but if you are going to have it as a display tank go 4 long x 3 high x 2 wide would be better and would allow your jungle to climb more.
