silly question on tails

soo... i have seen quite a few ball pythons in my days..most of them have that funny weird stubby tail.. i was wondering is that just a young ball thing? do they grow out of it or does it stay that way always?

They stay that way. Balls like bloods, and Borneos are Short Tail Pythons.
