what does this mean?

im new to this forum... matter of fact any forum so i was wonder what this meant.

a lot of you guys have signatures like this

0.1 ball python...4.7 boa ..... 5so on so forth??

what are the 0.1 adn 4.7 mean? is it length?

thats a good question, i just found that by randomly stummbling across a thread last year, it never occured to me to ask about it but when i read it i was like, ah damn thats what it is lol i see that everywhere :P
