The 'blue' is gone I suspect to see some skin in a few day...

Here is Benny in all of his glory! I adore his markings, I really lucked out with my guy :D His alien markings are the best; he is still quite light at six months so I am excited to see his final coloration after he matures since I know he will darken!

I will post more after he is all done shedding and show his new coloring!

I am pretty excited about this snake thing; I am pretty sure no relatives are ever coming to our house again but that is ok by me.

My co-worker just informed me that she has her old hand built terrarium out in her garage that held her Burmese before they got a bigger set-up and I that I was welcome to take it. (for free, of course she couldn't have offered this prior to me spending 60$ on the 70g tank yesterday) Oh well :p So I will have two LARGE setups and a 15g starter tank.... I have plans to spend some money on some snakes :D

Now she needs a nice carpet python to help feed the addiction. Get a carpet and you'll be hooked for life.

Very beautiful snake, looks big for his age too.

I know he is quite big, he was seriously about 18" when we got him and now he spans my entire arm, lol. Might have something to do with the fact he gets a weaned rat every week but he definitely isn't overweight...

As far as carpets go.... maybe one day, I like their heads...

Go with what marvelfreak and emseeKAY said; a carpet and a brazilian rainbow! I picked up a BRB and not too long after that, fell in love with carpets! There's no going back after that......

And FYI, I did start with a single BP! (Well technically 15 years ago with a Rat snake and then a Rosy boa....great snakes as well).

Beautiful markings on your little guy though!

Brandy, great pics, he's a looker.
I do have a concern regarding your enclosure though. From the pics that I see, what I see is that your snake basically has two options for thermoregulation; hot spot in his hide, and cold water. There really is no cool side to speak of.
Your water dish (though it is great that he can completely submerge), is comically large. You have given the little guy no option to stay out of the water and get cooler.
Just an observation.
