Potential Tank HERE (http://eugene.craigslist.org/pet/1855179168.html)

That would be a great size but how would I make the enclosure work? I would need to secure the lid (I'd also need a lid) some how.

They are only asking 60$ which seems like a great price for a 70 gallon and I wouldn't have to upgrade, well again, if I didn't want to....

Thanks in advance for the help :D

It would work well, just go to your local hardware store and get a piece of plexi glass cut to fit the top hinge one side either by carefully drilling or using epoxy. Drill a bunch of small holes in it, (The top) put a couple of latches on the other side. Very nice, hurry up and get it!

Ok so it is here now! Here are two pictures of the top, I am thinking plexiglass and latches will work fine! I am thinking in the big openings solid pieces with a latch and then over the smaller opening have those be the openings for ventilation? Does that sound plausible?

Sounds plausible, shouldn't be hard at all. Lucky you! If you could take the whole tank to the hardware store, tell them what you want they might be able to fix the top right up for you. Good Luck!

Yeah I am thinking a 'pond' area water dish with some nice thick sticks and some smooth river rocks to lay upon with a two different hides on each of the tank (it is 48" long btw, I have A LOT of play room) and have two under the tank heaters one on each end.

I am not excited at all lol......

I would only use very few rocks as he will prefer to hide anyway and the poo and wee would be fun when you have to take them all out to clean just my opinion though. I always use natural slate rocks in my tanks as they look great and are very easy to clean. The pond will be a great to keep humidity up as well. I would use the heaters side by side at one end as to still offer heat gradients for him, he needs a hot and a cold end to create a thermal gradient.
I look forward to seeing some pics of the tank when its done!!!
