Hello and welcome to the site. I am of the opinion that the best enclosure for most hots small/medium size is a 3x2x2. I use sliding doors on all mine, but many are of the opinion that you should only use top opening. This is due to the snake having to strike up and also it is easy to control them if they try and escape (they will just slide on out of sliding door enclosures as opposed to top opening). As long as copperheads are local to that area you will be able to keep them with minimal heating. I always still have a slightly warm area for most species, roughly around 15-17 degrees celcius when its gets extremely cold. My copperhead (australian species) on the other hand thrive on the cold so i have left him without any heat at all and we have been having some bloody cold nights. I hope i have helped a little bit but im sure there are others on here that have kept that species which will have specific details on their husbandry.
