I'm thinking about getting an axanthic brooksi. What is the differece between anerythristic and axanthic? Isn't anery black and white and axanthic bluish and white? Or is there no difference.. just the name? I found a breeder selling a New England line male for $150. I thought that was a great price considering it is het for ghost and has that strong line to it.

I wanted a lampropeltis zonata... like maybe an agalma or multifaciata. But I came to a pic of one of these and fell in love =).

What do you think?

Well, this sounds like a no-brainer to me... get one of each!:)

Rachel, after a lot of discussion w/a few other breeders at Daytona and else where, I've concluded that the axanthic and the anerythristic are the same. I have been looking for a 2x het/ghost Brook's for months.( I have an adult male) There are a few different "strains" from the east and the west that show varying amounts of blue. Zonatas are much smaller and very, very cool too. Obviously you know how I deal with these problems! LOL

lol cranwill, I would get both but my parents will only let me get 2 big snakes this year (they think big is 6 - 8 feet long) or a bunch of smaller snakes. And brook kings get about 7 feet long. So you know how that goes...

I told my mom they get 4 feet. heh heh heh. So hopefully in April I can get a coastal mtn king =). Maybe I can solve this problem after all... lol =P.

ah well,

Rachel, don't expect a Brook's king to get 7' long! In my exp. I've never seen one that big. A little over 6' maybe, but 5' is more like it.

I hate using the internet to read caresheets

The internet is great for finding information but, you have to remember anyone and everyone can put up a web page. When looking for care sheets i look @ the source and cross reference it with other sheets i've found.

Good idea... I usually look at Reptiles magazines, get info from the breeder or his page, or check out books. But I thought this would be quick, and tried it. Guess that was a bad idea heh
