hey and welcome
wow. never would have thought I would have gotten a response like that. A nice indication of a really friendly forum!
Well, I have been keeping pets my whole life. At the current time, my only reptile is a cornsnake yearling. In the past I have had, many kinds of frogs, a 5 foot iguana, smaller lizards.
Of of other pets, in my house I currently have, a dog, rat, parrot, and loads of fish. So, i'm not new to keeping any type of animal :P.
The reason I came upon this forum is specifically for Carpet Pythons. I'm currently building a nice viv, and looking for a good display snake for it. so yah...
there it is.

I love carpets- in my humble opinion they are one of the best beginner pythons. They are generally very friendly, beautiful and colorful, impressive sized without being massive, pretty hardy and easy to care for. A carpet would make a nice display snake but make sure you also handle it often enough to keep it docile. If you are looking for one to show off, I would recommend a jungle carpet. They get on average 5-6 feet long, although they can reach up to 8 feet. They are bright yellow and velvet black, really beautiful snakes, and usually very tame.

Give me a C A R P E T! What's that spell CARPET. Whats that spell CARPET! GOOOO CARPETS! LOL:) I can think of quite a few. They are some of the most active pythons. Everytime i look in on my snake at least one of my carpets will pop its head out or will be out an about.

Yeah they are awesome. My big 8 footer Voodoo is always nudging his door when I come in, like he's asking to be let out to play. Oftentimes he'd rather come out and play than eat, and I have to bother him with the rat to get him to take it..lol. He's such a funny snake. We love him dearly. :)
