Think the title has something in it for everyone so hopefully i now have your full attention!:) Could you PLEASE take a couple of minutes to read the rest of the message.
I recently discovered this website Post Pals - Post a Smile on a Sick Child's Face (http://www.postpals.co.uk) and am doing my best to publicise it as much as possible.
The website was set up by a teenager suffering with M.E. who was totally bed bound and unable to have many visitors. Her friends started writing and emailing her and she realised how much a small message cheered her up on even her worst days.
She then thought of all the other children that were terminally ill or disabled and unable to interact with the outside world and set up a website so that people could send these children messages. It has gotten so big that now it is run professionally.
All that i ask is that you take a look at the site and if it tugs at your heartstrings then pick a child and send them a short message. These children have none of the freedoms that we take for granted and no matter how busy we are we can all spare a couple of minutes to send a message and create a smile on a sick child's face.
I have received a couple of replies from the children (not all do or can reply but that is no reason not to do it) and the messages i have had left me in tears.
IF you do nothing else today please please PLEASE make a child smile.
Thank you for your time

Actaully the sex and drugs in the title almost made me not read this post, but then i seen it was you that posted it (Rob) so i checked it out. I when to the site. You can't read about this kids and not shed a tear. My sons best freind had cancer when he was 5 years old. Doctors said he might not live to be 7 at the rate it was spreading. He turns 19 this year. With as much time as we all spend on here. We could all take a few mins, a couple times a week to put a smile on a child face. My hat off to you Rob and anyone else who takes the time to send a sick child a E-mail.

Rob asked me if it was OK to post about that site, when I clicked the link it made me realize just ho blessed many of us are that our children are healthy.
However the thread title this morning did make me wonder what the heck Rob was up to.
I for one am going to take a few minutes and send a few notes, maybe even email some pictures of my area here so these wee ones can see a little tour that they may otherwise never live to see for real.
You are a good man Rob.

You are a good man Rob.
I second that. I read the post about how Rob ended up in a wheelchair. But give what life as given him to deal with. He doesn't let it get the better of him. He goes out and helps teach kids an other about snakes. Not only does he take the time to give back, but try to get other to help as well. So the least the rest of us can do is help with a little of our time. You are a true inspiration to us all Rob. I am going to send this to everyone i know.

Thanks guys - your words mean a lot - and thank you on behalf of the kids that you will make smile.
I really couldnt think of a good title to get as many people to read the post as possible - anything with reference to sick kids i thought might turn people away - any suggestions would be great and then maybe Wayne can change it??
Thanks again!!

Wow, Rob, kudos to you for finding that site! My heart always aches for seriously ill and terminally ill children- they have been cheated out of a full life and children are so innocent and don't deserve to suffer. I wrote one child already (wasn't quite sure what to say other than that she will be in my prayers) and will write more. It's wonderful to have a site like that to cheer them up!

Thanks willow - i also found the first email hard but now tend to look through the childs hobby and just type a few bits about them.
Girl i emailed last nite keeps a scrapbook of animals and carries them everywhere so i emailed her a load of piccies of my pets past and present to add to the book.
My thinking is however difficult it is for us to find something to say is nothing compared to what these kids go through.
Thanks again for your support

I commented on the girls' hobby and asked what kinds of wildlife she likes, since she mentioned liking wildlife. I also told her about my dogs' silly antics since she said she loves dogs and has a scrapbook of dogs that Cesar Milan worked with over the years. I can't imagine what those poor kids are going through and how hard it must be for them; but I can let them know I care and am praying for them.
