Ok here goes, this probably is a weird question to most of you but i am fairly new to this game so here goes.

When peeps are asked what snakes they have there seems to be a "numbering" system = 1.2 boas, 0.6 geckos etc?? Can someone let me know what they mean?

I like to have as much knowledge as possible about any of my hobbies so any help greatly appreciated!!

not a strange question at all!

the first number is how many MALE animals we own...
the second number is how many FEMALE animals we own....
The third number is "unsexed" individuals (Usually babies, eggs, newborns)

so 1.2.3. would equal 1 male, 2 females, 3 unsexed......

Thanks for the response - i was always taught there are no stupid questions just stupid people so tend to ask whatever comes to mind!

If a fourth number is added, it refers to eggs in incubation.

On reading the first post in this thread I thought you meant the "06" or "09" as in the year of hatching, I can`t say I`ve ever noticed what you were actually talking about ! Huh...

Jess; I've never seen a fourth number added, wouldn't all sundry animals be covered under the third number (unknown)?
