Just wondering what type of thermostats you guys use.
I'm looking for a proportional type to control a Radiant Heat Panel.
Any recommendations and does anyone know of any Canadian websites I can order from?

will a zoo med repti temp thermostat control a non-zoo med uth? the zoo med repti temp thermostat is the only one i could find within my budget. i also plan on using a uth from reptiledirect.com. will a 14" x 8" uth be sufficient enough for one side of a 30" terrarium? now also, its said that an adult ball python needs a 36" x 18" x 18" terrarium but i could only afford the 30" x 12" x 12" that i ordered. will my snake by ok with that? i certainly hope so, lol.

i use ceramic set ups with microclimate B1 or B2 thermostats.B1 is a dimming stat (used for a basking bulb) and B2 is a pulse stat (used for ceramics).with light emmiting heat sources you need the dimming stat as a pulse stat would just make the light flick on and off like disco lights.a dimmer stat lowers the brightness of the light when the desired temps have been reached.with non light emmiting heat sources ,ceramics, matts, etc you can use either stat.i have been told the dimmer stat is more economical to run but i do not know if this is correct.

I decided to go with the Herpstat ND. A bit pricey but it is a proportional thermostat which will provide my boa with a more natural environment.
I used to use Helix's, until I found Herpstat. Herpstat is head and shoulders above Helix; everything about them is infinitely more honed and more user-friendly than the Helix unit.
I currently have 4 Herpstat II's powering my incubators, and 6 Herpstat Pros powering my racks.
I would NEVER go back.
