How to use quotes?

I am new to the forums and can't figure out how to properly use the quote feature. I don't know, I'm dumb, but any help would be appreciated. Thanks everyone!

if you push the quote button and then type your message underneath the quote in the reply section it will work

What about just quoting bits and pieces of someone's message? That is the part I have not figured out yet. Thanks for the quick reply!

I have a guide...... make sure to include the forward slash symbol in the last set of brackets to activate the quotes.
