The easy way is to drill pilot holes and use wood screws, without any glue.
I have 3 home made enclosures that I built with just screws holding them together.
Are you skilled in woodworking??
I can gladly take pictures and show you.

I use plywood, There is not really a need to waterproof a ball python cage..
If you get the kind they make counter tops from, with the smooth side, just face the smooth side inward.
You can lay a sheet of plastic on the floor as needed to keep the slop from the water bowl from soaking into the wood, However substrate will absorb a bit of it.

not exactly beautiful, but cheap and functional. I have under $20 invested, and it's 2 foot wide by 18 inches deep and 2 foot tall.
The log hide cost more than the cage did. I obtained the glass at a rummage sale, it was a table top. $5 for the table, it had 2 identical panes of tempered glass, I threw away the frame.
The hinge was a spare I found, the light socket was about $4, the rest was spent on wood.
