Well at least he is still alive. Looks like he is doing great

we get a kick out of it, he comes out every night around 11:30-12:00.
He has been living under the kitchen sink, so we just clean under there twice a week to keep it as sanitary as possible, he never gets into the real food, and I have tried 100 times to catch him, no use...
I can't bring myself to using a "death trap" or poisons, so we just decided his name is freedom....
He was just a weanling when he got out of his cage, squeezed right out between the wires.
Now I house my rats in 55 gallon fish tanks.

LOl- wow that's cute! Freedom the rat. That's like my rat, Lucky. I got him as food for my carpet who was fasting and the darned 8 foot snake was terrified of the rat. The snake coiled up in the far corner and the rat curled up and went to sleep on top of his coils so I took him out and he was so friendly, and he started cleaning himself and sniffing me,...and that was it. I'm such a sucker...

I can completely relate. Animals don't bring drama. They don't feel insecure and get mad because you aren't up there butts 24/7. They love you just the way you as long as you feed and water them on time! lol

I think he deserves to be a forever pet!
He was sold to the pet store with a batch of adults, Once they escape and spend any time loose, it's near impossible to keep them contained after that. I tried.

We lived in a place where the landlord did not permit pets. He also did not permit aquariums due to potential water damage.
We did manage to convince him that one small snake in a dry aquarium could pose no property risk, he allowed us one pet snake.
Then my mom passed away leaving me her house and that wonderful property out back, We moved in during February, I gutted the family room and started putting in racks.
Before the first year was over living here, the reptile room was quite populated.
Chomper arrived on my doorstep that spring.
