Hello and welcome! In the 5 foot range. There Irain Jaya Carpet Python they top out about 5 to 5 1/2 feet. Very easy to care for they have sweet color to them. Another good one is Dumeril Boa they get about 4 to 5 feet. Very cool marking on these snake. If your wanting something in the 4 to 5 foot range with some girth to it. Then you might like Borneo short tail python. These snake might be short but their girth makes them as impressive as a burm or retic twice their sizes. As they get bigger they do need alot more foor space than the other two. Their are a little more work but worth it. The key is when you find a snake you want make sure to reseach it. Best of luck and let us know what you pick. You'll find if you have a question they all most alway someone here who can anwser it. Theres alot of helpful people here.

I agree with marvelfreak- I am a [I]Morelia[I] nut too, and for the price, carpet pythons can't be beat. Jungles and Irian Jayas tend to stay in the 5-6 foot range, and are beautiful animals to boot. I find them even easier to care for than ball pythons, as they tend to be more tolerant of humidity fluctuations. I own 0.1 jungle carpets, 1.0 unknow locale, 1.0 Irian Jaya, and 1.0 jungle/jag sibling. My unknown locale carpet is pushing 8 feet, which makes me think there is some coastal blood in him, but his pattern is more like a dull jungle. Oh well, he's a sweetheart and I love him anyway!

Other snakes you might consider in that size range are woma pythons, Nicaraguan boas, Children's pythons (max out at 3 feet and way underrated IMO), Stimson's pythons (related to Children's also get 3-4 feet max), Indonesian boas like Solomon Islands, and of course if you're up to a bit more of a challenge, arboreal pythons/boas.
