I`ve just finished converting an old arborial vivarium I made into an incubator. I`m replacing my viv`s with Herptek ones gradually so I`ve gotten rid of a lot of the stuff I made myself. I thought this one would do as an incubator though. I cut all the glass myself too lol :) quite pleased with that lol :) I figured the glass shelves would allow heat transfer throughout the incubator. As for the glass front, I`ve seen that a lot of people use old fridges and similar things which wouldn`t have the potential problems of glass I know but this seems to work just fine. I was able to maintain 85 degrees with the smaller mat I had in there, that`s not enough for what I need so I`ve covered the whole back with two huge mats. The heat sensor drops down through the top and can access any tub on any shelf. :) I`ll probably keep a few babies in this as time goes by too. Thought I`d share being as i`m so pleased with it lol .......

Wow thats a great job you did there!
I also diy all my stuff and i know it takes real skill to make it look nice.
(cutting glass not my strong point)
Im still on the fridge incubator, prolly build something proper when i incubate as much u do.

Nice work, glass would not have been my first choice as a building material for a few reasons, but nice design. What will you be cooking?

A glass front isn`t ideal at all, but I`ve just started running it to see how it goes, I`ve got ninety at the back at the moment, I`ll have a better idea of how it`s going over the next day or two I suppose. I could always make a cover for the front, something that clips on and prevents heat loss through the glass. I didn`t think I could cut glass either until I read of a great tip, use olive oil along the cutting line :) works about 97% of the time. A fridge or something would have been a lot better I know but this will certainly have it`s uses. My Western Hognoses are mating at the moment, one witnessed copulation so far so they`ll be the first eggs in there. Closley followed by Amelnastic Corn snake and then, fingers crossed my nine foot 50-50 Jungle Jaguar will work his magic on my female Jungle Carpet, again, one witnessed copulation. :) I`m resting my big Ball python female as she`s had surgery this year. I`m really getting excited about the breeding program now, I`ve only bred Corns before but I plan to breed most of the snakes I own when they`re ready. My Bloods should be fun......

Ill try olive oil next time, we use turpentine but i think its mostly to blame on the surface we work, our works table is lil warped, thanks for the tip.
Are those bloodred corns u talking about? I had a beautiful female, pure blood they really pretty.

No I was talking about my Blood pythons, although.... mmm.... blood red Corns :) They sound nice ! I`d happily keep more Corns than I have, they`re great snakes. :)

Not sure.... I`ll have to look into that though, I`d quite like a blood red Corn :)
