Hi all I Had Quick Question I was Wondering How I got Paperwork for my Ball Python Hatchlings, Ill only Have %100 HET axanthics some other DHs this season and next season some people are asking about paper work and Ive never had it and have no idea how to get it. The Father is A VPI Axnanthic amd hes bred to a Normal. Any Info on the Subject would be apreciated.

thanks

P.S. Hey mikee sorry about the falling out we had a few months ago, i was pretty much brand new to breeding and was getting some really crappy info from another breeder in colorado he also sold me a garanteed male that is about to lay "his" first Clutch this season. anyway Im am sorry hope there no hard feelings i wont make the same mistake again.

Paperwork is not like the AKC or CKC up here; there is no lineage paperwork for snakes like there are for dogs. If you have a male axanthic, and you breed him to a het axanthic and produce babies, then those babies will obviously require no paperwork. The hets however, will be just that and your paperwork (which you make up yourself as the breeder) will just guarantee that the babies are 100% het and you'll explain the breedings. I take pictures of multiple breedings, ovulations, female on eggs, clutch and hatching pics.
Keep in mind that if you're a lying, untrustworthy piece of shyt breeder and people know it, then your paperwork is worth nothing.
Your "paperwork" is only as good as your reputation.

There is zero guarrantee that breeding a 100% het to the albino will produce any albinos, its all in the odds.
It sometimes takes more than 1 breeding to prove out hets.
That said always buy from reputable breeders, Mark

EXACTLY!!
I've bred homos to hets and produced all hets. It happens all the time.
The ONLY way to guarantee that you aren't being screwed over as Mark said, it to buy from a reputable breeder.
And THAT's the bottom line.

I know guys that have bred codoms such as Spiders 2 or 3 times before getting a single spider as well.
Never hurts to have a little luck thats for sure, along with your daily prayers to the snakes Gods of course! ;) Mark

WOW I didn't know that so she might still me a HET. BUT she was also suppose to be male so forgive me if I don't give that guy the bennifit of the doubt. i don't have a lot of experience breeding recesive genes but i bred a male VPI axanthic the a HET and 6 out of 8 were VPI so i hope Im that Lucky this year aswell thanks alot for that info i had no idea it was like that.

Its all odds just because odds are 50/50 or (whatever) doesn't mean every second egg will yield what ya want ;)
You could have 100% or 0% or anywhere inbetween.
Flip a coin a few times for an example.
Odds are 50/50 there too right on heads or tails.
Flip it a dozen times a few times in a row does it end up 6 & 6 everytime? NOPE, Mark

Check out the BOI on faunaclassifieds.com.
I've personally never heard of them, but I pay little to no attention to the American breeders.

there sure is mommanessy247 like gonesnakee and mykee said your paper works only as good as your reputation.your basically giving people your word that the snake is what your saying it is.say you buy a pair of snakes both het for albino with the hope of breeding albino's.what you have in front of you is 2 visually normal looking snakes.so you only have the breeders word (paperwork) that say snakes are het for albino.the lying sh**head breeders are going about selling normal snakes that are het for nothing but the breeders then lie about them by saying they are het.the only way to proove out they are hets are to breed them and get visuals for said het.thats why you should always buy from reputable breeders.its nothing short of soul destroying raising snakes from hatchlings to adult breeding size only to find out you've been lied to and just raised a pair of normal snakes.the snake world is quite a small place and herpers tend to be on the ball when it comes to sussing out dodgy dealers within there own countrys.we are equally good at sussing out who the decent good breeders are.so its always wise to ask on a forum like this if anyone has any knowledge of the breeder your about to buy from.the snake world imo can be dodgier than the used car world, some snake breeders make the dodgiest of car salesmen look decent an honest.

Paperwork can be issued for ANY animal.
A simple receipt is paperwork in some cases & in the case of international shipments, import/export paperwork & potentially CITES paperwork as well.
As for recessive trait animals there would be more paperwork involved there for reptiles than any other animals IMHO Mark
