that male black neck and gray wanderer look amazing! how are they when you take them out? i have always found garters and ribbons rather feisty and fast paced, whereas i like those that just chill lol, beautiful collection though, and infernalis, you have sparked my interest in garters and ribbons after reading your posts and seeing your collection! lol

It's the activity that appeals to me, for instance my BP & corn are B.O.R.I.N.G.
My blackneck drew blood last week, I reached into her cage and startled her, she defended herself so I forgave her. ;)
If you want a snake that will just "park on your arm" while you show it, Garters are not the snake for that.
My ribbon, well I just adore her, but never handle her, she will fling that foul musk all over the place.

definitely agree with you there, i guess ive never really thought of it that way lol i would not mind adding one or two to my collection in a few years as more of a display animal because their colours are truly amazing!

I know. I never really thought about garters until I started reading Wayne's posts, now I think I might like one or two or more someday. My fiance says I have too many snakes already. Really depends on how you look at it...:p

They are super easy to get on pinkies, and if you run out of pinkies, they will eat night crawlers, Salmon, Tilapia or guppies. Some will even eat garden slugs.
They love amphibians too. Polliwogs and newts are like candy to them.
Many keepers including myself keep 2 or 3 in the same cage, they don't mind at all.
Try that with any other snake ;)

Gorgeous snakes and a fantastic job with the camera yourself! You highlight their appeal and appearance perfectly with those photos!
OH MY GOD. haha I'm sitting at work and your snakes made my jaw drop! That male Eastern blackneck....I need one! You have some real stunners here. Talk about an underestimated snake! Ok, that's it. I'm getting garters. If any Canadians know where I can find myself an cb Eastern blackneck, PM me please :)
