I have a rosie. I had another one before her. Females can live up to 15-20 years but males tend to live only around 5 or so. I had mine for 6 years, so I think it was a male. The new one I have is a female. They are very easy to care for. I keep mine in a 12' x 6' Critter Keeper with sand as a substrate and a resin cave hide, and a large, shallow water dish so she and the crickets cannot drown in it. I feed her once a week with 3 large crickets. Sometimes she scarfs them right down, sometimes they'll sit in there for a while. I keep her at room temp with a little heat pad under one end so she has some warmth.

I handled my last one every day because he was very docile and easy to work with. My current rosie is not nearly as friendly and flicks the urticating hairs off on me a lot. They itch like heck! I do pick her up every so often and when I clean her cage, but I am generally very gentle and wash my hands immediately after holding her.
