This little milk snake had escaped months ago, I had wrote it off as gone forever. The nearly perfect heart shaped spot on the top of it's head is a solid ID .
We found a hole in the floor where the baseboard heat plumbing passes, the holes are rather oversize.
The snake had pushed the screen cover off the 10 gallon enough to squeeze out, These little milks are clever animals. Then went down the hole.
It's 8 feet down to the basement floor, so that had to smart.......
Our basement is 50 feet by 25 feet and one giant storage unit.
The odds that this little one would be out in the open, alive and healthy, crawling along on a very cold concrete slab, just as I came down the stairs and turned on the light are rare.
Happy to have him/her back safe and sound. (back in a latching box this time)

The snake was very hungry, a bowl of fresh water is also provided.
