Okay, some of you that know me, I have a 4.5 year old saharan sand boa, he's really healthy, husbandry is exactly same as it has always been, but just a ? regarding feeding.
I have read during the winter months, they can go off food for a while, but I haven't actually been able to find a rough time frame. He hasn't eat in 9 weeks, which has happened before. He's the shyest little guy ever, as he often runs away from his food. Last night, I attempted to feed him a perfect sized mouse, and it was the funniest thing..the mouse appoached him, and he just turned around and looked the other way. It was as if he was saying "Would you please leave me alone, I am chilling".
Anyways, he's not losing weight. I felt along his body and he seems to be maintaining a healthy weight(good musculature) I have not really handled him to much..in order to not stress him at all, so he'd feed for me. The only major concern I have is that I moved him from Chicago to TX via car 2 months ago, and treated him like as a new addition, when I got him settled in his new home here in TX. I just want him to feed for me, so
I know he's comfortable here.
Thx in advance,
Traci
