:)Couldn't help the chance to use a favorite line from....Austin Powers!

New milk snake (Mexican). A "2008". First snake for our household. Pretty neat. Learning a lot real fast. Watching it eat a pinkie was absolutely primevil!

Went to a big reptile show. Others had mostly recommended a corn snake as the first one. But we really liked the coloring in the Mexican.

Hope to learn a great deal!

Hello and welcome. Austin Powers is an awesome movie. I'm having trouble controlling THE VOLUME OF MY VOICE!
IMO, milk snakes are also good first snakes; they tend to be docile (albeit a bit twitchy and nervous) and don't get to large (4-5 feet). A Pueblan milksnake was my second snake, and she's great. They are beautiful and easy to care for. If you decide to get another snake though, corns are good; there are sooo many different colors and patterns you can go for. And of course, ball pythons and carpet pythons are also good beginner snakes. I'm sure you'll learn a lot here- there are tons of really knowledgeable people on here. enjoy!
