Very excited!!! Picked up a bci red tail on Monday. My question is...I got him to eat f/t today. YEAH!! But by feeding frozen, I have heard that some of the nutrients get lost in the freezing process. Is this true? Do I need to add supplements?

No, the nutrients do not get lost in the freezing process. That is a fairly common misconception, but actually the freezing can help kill parasites and bacteria the rodents may have, so it ends up being healthier for your snake, and you remove the risk of the snake being injured by its prey. By eating a whole prey animal, the snake gets all the nutrients it needs, whether the prey is f/t, f/k or live.

Thanks for the info. Last year when I bought my first snake(BP) the pet store swindled me into buying vitamins that I add to the water. I haven't really used it but, just curious, since I have an entire bottle is there any harm in using it? What I mean is will the extra vitamins...be harmful over time?
Oh and I will gets some pics of Apollo (my RTB) very soon, just got him Monday so letting him chill for a bit.

Yes extra supplementation can be very dangerous. Especially if you don't really know WHY or WHAT you are putting in. Also, I don't know anybody who supplements water.
Pet stores always try and sell you useless crap..they tried to sell me a heat light for my crested gecko..lol.
Like Willow said, snakes get all the nutrition they need from whole prey, extra supplementaion can cause buildups of excess minerals which can be harmful to your snake in the long run.
