I have had Ozzy for just over 2 months now and he still wont eat, he has not shed or gone to the loo in all this time, his temps are 87 deg and 92 deg, he has hide which he uses alot, he also has a water dish, the humidity is around the 80% mark. I am trying to feed him on F/T fuzzy mice which i was told to feed him by the guy I bought him off. He does not look thin or ill he loves to be handled. Please can some one help. Ady

The lack of a poo is cause he has not ate anything. you may want to try prekilled or as a last resort live prey to stimulate him into eating.....
Also here is a link to one of the most informative boa care guides Ive read. I link it because it has problem solving tips as well.......

Most of the time people tell you their animal eat F/T because of easiler to sell but infact they were feed alive, I 've seen many times. Try a live small mice and see what happen.

you cant poo if you dont eat right?

he may "love" to be handled but i would stop all handling until he starts consistently eating for you.

how old/big is this boa?

he does love to be handled, but i stoped about 2 weeks ago, he is only about 1 1/2 foot long. Update he has had a wee yey. I will try to feed him again at the weekend. I am ofering him F/T. I am reluctent to use live.

F/T is best, but if they wont eat than pre killed or live is better than them not eating at all! if it is going "wee" then its drinking thats good for sure......

I tried again last night he did not strike and its still there this morning, I also cut into it brain so it could get the smell, something i read on here. I am starting to get woried about him. I will see if I can buy a small live mouse, I just hope the mouse does not hurt him.
Many thanks for your comments. Ady

Mice can bite and hurt a snake but as long as you supervise it, it will be just fine. I hope he takes it and finally gets a meal down...

Hooray he has had his first feed today, he has had a stunned live mouse. I feel so releved that he has finally eaten, I have bought 4 live mice, once these are gone I will try him on F/T. I hope he will take the F/T. Many thanks for all your great advice.

One of my little boas wouldn't take rats pups so i switched to some smaller mice and she still wouldn't eat. Finally I took one of the mice and dipped it's head in chicken broth before i offered it to her and she took it, no problem. Now she'll eat mice anytime bo problem. Still "turns her nose up" at rat pups though. Got some good advice on how to switch her over though from Jeff Favelle.
