I got a Coolpix 2000 for Christmas. Now, the place it came from has a great return policy. I was thinking of taking it back, and putting in an extra $100-$200 for a camera with better macro features especially.
Now, for that much, will I be getting a camera that is much better, or does a quality jump not start until the camera's are $900+.

Any suggestions on what cameras to go for if it's feasible? Not that the image quality in this camera is bad - far from it.
I've included an example of a picture from my camera. So far, this is as close and clear as I can get (please ignore the lighting!).

I have a olympus 3040 partley for work, I I think your camera is fine...save your money, you can always bring the shot into photoshop and enlarge it.

Good Luck, I still do not know how to use all the features on mine

Cheers!

The pic looks pretty good, I find with the snakes I do mostly macro for the smaller snakes and a mix for the larger snakes. Better lighting might make for better pics for you.
