Can someone solve an argument for me? If you breed a Tiger Retic to a normal Retic what do you get? I think you get some tigers. My buddy thinks all normal but het for tiger. My thought is that since the tiger is dominant and not recessive like Albino you would get some Tigers from the clutch.

Tiger is co-dominant. There is a super form. So you are both kind of correct. You would recieve percentage wise, 50% of the babies being tiger and 50% being normal. The tigers would be "het" for super tiger or also known as the homozygous form.

K thanks. I got a Normal male coming in a trade tomorrow but was not sure I wanted it. My buddy has a Tiger female so I guess I'll pick it up for a possible breeding project in the next couple of years.
Hi
If you have a nice line in your tiger female, keep back one of the babies that comes out tiger and find a nice tiger male to breed her with. You'd get more tigers and open up your breeding line. It be a longer term project, but thats what breeders do.

Thanks. Don't mind long term projects. Actually kinda like them.

I guess I can replace the "Tiger" in question and put in its place my Yellowhead and come up with an answer as to what I would get if I bred my Normal with My Yellowhead?.. (supposedly het for albino but everyone says that when their unloading their snakes it seems).
No hijacking was intended btw.. (honest)
My 14ft retic is eating smaller amounts in the pas weeks, like only one lg rat compared to 2 small rabbits and 4 jumbo rats for a single feeding.
Anyone know if they go off a bit in the winter with their feeding? The snake is perky and looks hydrated and plump. Schedual just seems a bit off.
Thanks

My male adult as well has a huge appetite although with their killer metabolism you would never know it. About two months ago he skipped nearly 4 weeks of every meal offering. He never did this as it was always an instant response with him. This had me concerned but there was no signs of RI or any infestation. He was drinking regularly which was the only thing that stopped me from taking him to the vet. At a healthy weight i knew the fasting wouldn't hurt. Then one day at yet another attempt this time with a rat he couldn't take it fast enough. So i tried another one about an hour later. Same thing. They were kind of a joke for him so i moved back up to rabbits and walla.. he's his back to normal. Even seems with his behavior at the enclosure that he's always looking for something from me. I can't explain as to why any of this happened to me.. just letting you know i had a similar issue. Maybe the barometric pressure change that's all i can think of.
