lol. Make sure you cycle their temps and lights as well. Dumeril's are not supposed to be hard to breed, but like any boid the folliculation in the female is triggered by the shorter days and cooling temps of the winter and early spring.

Barry White is great but try some Al Green or Bobby Womack!

I have just aquired a breeding pair of these boas she has just given birth to 13 babies
. I tried to feed them a couple of days later. She was fine but when I got the male out
he was snapping does anyone know why?

Do you feed out of your enclosure? And do you house your snakes together?

I house them together and the person that had them before me said they feed in the enclosure

Usually not the best idea to house them together. At the very least, do not feed them in the same enclosure, as they will fight over the food.

And if they don't fight over food, you may wake up one day to find you only have one snake.

If you had only had them a couple of days stress is a likely cause of the snapping. Ive had snake bite me strait out of the bag after arriving and never even ettempt a bite again...

I also strongly suggest seperate enclosures no matter what the previous owner did....

also if they are continued to be housed together they may never breed for you.

...in the past for the previous owner. i didnt say it could never happen for you but it may or may not happen again under the current conditions.

and if "she has just given birth to 13 babies" as you have stated, you need to give her lots of time(months) off before even considering to breed her again.
