Welcome to the forum! Hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I've caught & kept various snakes and other herps for over 30 years . . . right now I have a captive bred & born (CBB) ball python (BP) and that's all! I'm looking forward to a couple of herp shows in my area in June . . .

What's your favorite? Have you gotten your own snake yet?

Wow, I thought you had more snakes than that Chu. Herp shows are great; I love them but I always end up spending more than I planned on.

If you count all the snakes I've had over the years, then I have had a lot more snakes than that! Our family went through some bad times and we cut way down on our animal population. For several years, we've had only one snake, but . . . warn my DH to watch out--that's not gonna last! LOL

NO, they are worse than Lay's chips- you cannot stop at one. I only intended to have one, had one for two years, then well, I got another, and another, and the rest is history. My fiance and I have 26 now but only because we're starting up breeding. (I keep telling myself that- who am I kidding, I'd still have them). They are all my babies and I love each one - they are wonderful!

Yep! DH & I had a grand at our local herp society meeting last night--first time we went--now we both want more . . . . :)

Welcome to the forum. I have only been a member for a short while and I have learned so much here. I have a Saharan Sand Boa who is as sweet as can be, and a brand new Striped Corn snake who is super shy but getting more comfortable in his new home.

Sandy and Willow sound like me. They are addictive, and I too warn my DH that there are more snakes in our future...a BP and and maybe a a coastal rosy boa. I really love the desert snakes. They are much luckier than me, b/c the hubby is not quite as fond of our sweet babies as I am. Oh well...

Welcome,
Traci

the hubby is not quite as fond of our sweet babies as I am. Maybe/hopefully/probably they'll grow on him, Traci!

yhov7, you can see we're enjoying ourselves here! Hope you do too!

Yeah, they will grow on them. My fiance wasn't all that into them at first, but after a year with me and my sweet ball python Saleen, he bought one of his own, and the rest is history.........snakes are sooo addictive! :)

Sandy, I do think he's starting to like Nicolai(the sand boa); it's really strange but that sand boa helped me through some rough times. Just looking forward to seeing him every night was a gift. He is still scared of the potential size of Fluffy(the striped corn) Oh well, like you said, hopefully Fluffy will grow him:) And Willow you are right, snakes are so addictive...I only hope to have a collection like yours someday :)

He is still scared of the potential size of Fluffy(the striped corn) Ahhh, I bet that as Fluffy grows, he gets so used to him that the size won't be a big deal. It's not like he's going to get as big as a retic! ;)

Very true. I think the gradual change, and buying a yearling as opposed to an adult was a good move. But as predicted, I want more, and I am really starting to look at getting a woma. I started reading up on them last night and they sound really great :) Unfortunately, for mdh, it will take alot of convincing, I understand they can have the potential to grow up to 7-8 feet.
