It looks to me to be a common boa constrictor- also known as Colombian Red-tailed boa. They don't have true red on the tail though, at least not all of them. It's more of a brick-brown color. They come in many color morphs, so without better resolution on the photos and a photo of its tail, I can't be sure, but that would be my guess as they are cheap and quite common. They are very docile, and make excellent pets! Best of luck with him!

he is a redtail, he shed to day and the red has become more predominant and and the rest of its skin/scales have become fairer so i will get better pictures, and now its shed which i had to help it as it got it stick on its branch and riped it!!

any how once i have better pics which will be tomorrow ill get them up on here, and get pics of its head and tail

They are great snakes! I'm sure you will love him- they do get quite large though, so be prepared for an 8-10 foot snake in a few years.

I agree it looks like a common boa. I have a female she is around 7-8 ft now
I also have a male who I around 4-5 ft he is not a common boa as he has more of a salmon colour on him, the male is about a year old and my female is about 2-3 years old
I also have got a dumerils boa he/she is very nice but only a baby
Got two royal pythons also but i'm going to sell those as I want to consentrate more on my boa's.
I'll post some pics soon. Good luck with your boa
