Hi i have a pastel boa female shes 1year old shes always been fine too handle
feeds fine recently she was due a feed so feed her and left her for 2days then she spent 3days in bowl without getting out so i decided to pick her up out bowl as i went near the viv she went to and s shape at that point i knew she were gonna strike but as i moved away she striked at the glass iv checked evryday on her and she seems to be doing the same shes never done this before im worried too plus im to afraid to put my hand in to get her bowl to fill it up please help i used to get her out every day the heating is all spot on as went to a snake shop to get all the set up please helpme!!!

She sounds like she might be going into a shed cycle. But she's never done this before when in shed?

Do you have a snake hook you could use to move her away from the bowl so you can get it out and clean?

She may have mites, my male had them and spent all his time in his bowl.

Good thinking, Ady. RachyBaby, what kind of substrate are you using? If you're not using paper towel, you might switch out the substrate and put in white paper towel. After that, if you see tiny black dots (the size of the period at the end of this sentence), your snake has mites. That is one reason that snakes spend a lot of time soaking, and it's a source of severe stress that could lead to striking.
