So, my boyfriend just found my 7 month old ball python, Cuddles in our closet, behind a box. She was only out of her enclosure for less than 2 days, but now her underbelly is a weird pinkish/tan color, instead of whitish which is normally is. Also, her underbelly is soft and squishy, not scaly like it normally should be. She has been constantly staying on her warm side of the tank, and hasn't gone into her hide since my boyfriend rescued her. Is she sick? HELP! :(

She could be just going into a shed cycle. You should just wait and see and pics are always good to show us.

Can you provide a hide on the warm side so she'll be less stressed? As Aaron states, she's likely to be getting ready to shed--as weird as it seems, the pinkish underbelly is a sign of impending shed. Hang in there.

Oh, and she just shed a couple of weeks ago. Is it still possible that she is going to shed again?

Yes, the younger the animal or the more often you feed, the more often the skin they're in gets too small for their growing mass, so they need to get out of the medium skin and into a large one.

Take photos with a digital camera. Upload them to your computer. Go to photobucket.com and establish an account (if you don't already have one). Upload the photos to photobucket.com. Click on a photo; when it comes up, it will have four options for displaying the photo elsewhere. Click on the link for forums and copy it. Come here and paste the link into the message window. When you post your reply, your photo will appear.

Good luck!
