My guy is new to me, but he's 3 years old

1. Should I avoid handling my snake directly after a shed due to sensitive skin?

2. When can I bring him out and handle him on a regular basis? I got him 3 days ago. I have heard that there is a period of time where he just needs to settle into his new home. If so, does anyone know how long?

i would leave him in his new home for a week or two. i wouldn't worry about the shedding, but i wouldn't hold him after feeding for three or four days.

As stated above, don't worry about the sensitive skin. I haven't seen a snake's scales become sensitive to touch after a shed.

Give the snake a few more days, attempt feeding the snake and once the snake eats a few times for you then I would start handling it. Also as stated above, avoid handling any snake for at least the first 48 hours after every feeding.

Wow, thanks guys for the quick reply! I will follow the advice about leaving him be for a while, but it's so hard not handling him. He's so adorable.
