ok my ball python, Selene, is about 4 ft long and has been feed medium to large mice her whole life. My question is do you think it would be ok to try and feed her a medium size rat? I think going by the thickest part of her body rule she should be able to handle it, but do you think its to late to try and switch her over to rats?

Mara, when you try it, if you are feeding F/T prey items, thaw a mouse with the rat to scent the rat with the smell that is familiar to your BP. It may help her make the switch.

I have live rats, we tried earlier, my friend was afraid the rat would hurt her, so it took some time to talk her into it.

she didnt eat. is there anything i can do to make it smell more like a mouse? i guess....

my RTB wont eat the rats either. from his size i think hes like 3-4 yrs old thats what i was told. the man i got them from was out of work for quite sometime so he just bred mice and fed them once a week, but they havnt eaten in like 3 weeks so im a little concerned.

i know that with my RTBs size he needs to be eating rats and i also know that the time has come to switch the BP over to rats, but i dont know how......

if anyone has any advice on how to do this that would be awesome.
