View Full Version : My Dumeril's boa won't eat
Hi, I got a Dumeril's Boa 15 days ago and she hasn't showed any interest in eating yet should I just be patient? I don't know how old she is because I got her from a pet store but she's about 24 inches long and looks healthy. She also tries to get away when I go to get her out of her tank but is fine once shes out for a bit. Anyone have any input?
Just leave her be for now. You shouldn't handle your new snake for the first week that you bring her home, (IT'S HARD, I KNOW!) you need to give her time to settle into her new surroundings. Just keep the handling to a minimum and yep, you said it, just be patient. She should come around :)

what size enclosure is she in and what are the warm and cool end temps? does she have two hiding spots? and what was she eating before you purchased her?
10 gallon aquarium,86 and 78. Has hides even though I've heard they should burrow (mine isn't) into the substrate and she was supposedly eating white live adult mice. I tried f/k mouse, live rat pup.
