Here is some information about Nix shampoo:
Nix shampoo is a pediculicide (a chemical substance used to treat head lice) shampoo with active ingredients of the product consisting of the combination of pyrethrum extract (providing a concentration of pyrethrins of 0.17 to 0.33 percent) with piperonyl butoxide (2 to 4 percent) in a nonaerosol dosage formulation. The FDA has recognized and deemed pediculicides safe and effective for the topical treatment of head louse.

You won't be able to buy it at a pet store, but you might check a pharmacy or druggist or apothecary (a place that sells medicines for people; I don't know what the proper term is in Ireland). If they do not have Nix, find out what they have that contains the same ingredients--the permethrin (pyrethrin compound) is the important/active ingredient.
But don't worry about it too much unless you've seen mites on your snake. Were there little black critters on your snake when you bought it? Is it spending a lot of time soaking in the water bowl even when you have humidity & temp correct? If the answer to the latter question is yes even though you didn't see little black critters on the snake when you bought it, then check it closely for mites. If you don't see any, you probably won't ever have to deal with them.
