I have a California King snake that is about 30" long. I have had him for 6 months, and he has always eaten every 1-2 weeks. He eats live mice, and will not touch frozen at all.

He has not eaten for about 4 weeks. I put the mice into the cage and he just ignores them. About 3 week ago, he killed the mouse I put in with him, but didn't eat it.

Is this normal? Anybody have any ideas on what the issue might be. He move around, and seems healthy.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Winter may be the problem. Depending on where in the U.S. you are located and on where your snake's enclosure is located in your house, e.g., near a window, it's possible that seasonal changes are telling him he shouldn't be eating much. Several of us have are having the same thing occur with our snakes at this time.
