i am wondering if you bring your snakes to the vets alot .do they need annual check ups or just when there sick . about deworming a snake how do i do this .
I take any animal I buy to the vet within the first couple of days after the purchase, then at least once yearly.

Keep in mind that many vets do not know what they really need to know to treat snakes unless they are herp certified--which very few are. Here are a couple of websites that provide information for finding a well-qualified vet for treating your snake, including some excellent questions to ask a prospective vet in order to assess their qualifications:
Choosing a Herp Vet (http://www.exoticpetvet.net/reptile/herpvet.html)
Herp Veterinarians (http://www.anapsid.org/vets/)
Also keep in mind that transporting a snake and allowing a stranger to handle it in strange conditions is stressful for the snake, so this is something many people choose to do as little as possible.

Never have I brought one of my snakes to a vet.
I've owned thousands of snakes over many years; some for a few weeks, some for many, many years. I've only ever brought one snake to a vet, it was my own fault and I was sorry I did. If you purchase your snakes from reliable breeders and make sure to meet their husbandry requirements, there is no need to ever have to visit a vet with your snake.

I agree with Mykee. Also, if you happen to screw up most problems can be solved with a home remedy. Usually the home remedy is less stressful then what the vet would say.

I've also never known anyone who deworms--have you guys? I know Rossi & Rossi talk about deworming in "What's Wrong with My Snake?" but I don't actually know if it's necessary.
IF you're buying your babies from a reputable breeder and the babies are CBB and not 25 cent bush babies, you never need to deworm.

That's kinda what I thought. So, Phil, it's very unlikely you need to deworm your BP. Ask the pet store people if it was captive bred & born (CBB) if you don't know already.
i would just be repeating what everyone else said...9 out of 10 times you can solve it yourself...
