My daughter has had a crested gecko for about 6-8 months. From the beginning she has been an excellent caregiver and her gecko has been thriving up until now. He has been fed crested gecko diet regularly and the tank has been misted regularly. Then last night, she noticed that he was a bit lethargic. She pulled him out of the tank and he felt cold to the touch. His color was kind of a sick-looking greenish where usually he is a nice brown color. As she held him, we noticed that he was acting strange. He didn't move much at all, he kept opening his mouth wide (as though gasping for air) and closing it again. He dropped his tail right in her hand even though is wasn't being touched. We think he is dying, but don't know what to do for him. Could you please advise?

A few notes: We cleaned his tank on Saturday with a 3% bleach solution as is mentioned on several care sheets. We rinsed thoroughly several times. This is not the first time we have cleaned the tank this way. Then on Monday, he shed his skin. She caught him doing so (which had not previously happened), so she left him alone to finish. By Tuesday evening he was sick. We checked the temperature in the tank (because his skin was cold and it's been so cold outside) and it read 63 degrees.

We are fearful that this gecko may not make it, but we have another one in a separate tank and don't want the same thing to happen. What did we do wrong?
