View Full Version : Cgd
I have a young crested gecko who has been eating only crickets, but the only local pet store which carries 1/4 crickets is out until next week. I bought CGD, which he has never eaten before and he doesn't seem very fond of it. Should i just leave him to it or should i mix it with baby food or something? I know there is another post very similar to this but my situation is a little different so i thought I'd ask.
Just leave it in the enclosure overnight, mix up a new bit of it the next day - it tends to dry out overnight. I wouldn't reccomend mixing it with babyfood - since that could dilute the vital minerals such as calcium and other vitamins.
Your gecko may take a couple of days to warm up to the idea of eating something that doesn't move, but it will eat if its hungry.
Also, how old is your gecko and do you supplement the crickets with calcium w/D3 and occasionally with a multi vitamin? They are likely the easiest reptile to care for, but if they don't get proper supplementation their health can go south in a hurry.
Thanks, this was an old post though, got it taken care of! I actually took care of it that night, I just wanted some opinions.
