I have a situation, and I am hoping someone can help me. I have been keeping reptiles for about 5 yrs now and have a bit of a collection built up, and very unfortunatly I am going to be moving to a new country in a couple of months and won't be able to take any of my babies with me. Now, most of them have found homes, either to friends, and even ppl on this site! Thanks!
My situation is this: I have one female ball python, whom I purchased along with my male about 4 yrs ago (as a juvinile). While my male is full sized, healthy and fat, my female has never been a strong feeder, and as such, she is small and need special TLC. She is not skinny, and I have spent her leftime trying every method I had suggested to me for feeding her, but she simply eats when she wants! She tends to feed very well in the summer, and then hardly / not at all through the winter (she has eaten at her last 6 feedings, every week, for example, but has gone 5 months without in the winter). Also, about a year ago she suffered from a skin disease. She was taken to a reptile vet, medicated, and she is fine now, and I was told it will not repeat, but it left her with 3 scars in her skin pattern (she's still a pretty little girl, especially to me!) Going through so much with her, she is extra special to me, and it is VERY important to me that she get a very good home, I wish I could keep her, but I can't take exotics to the country I am going to, and I can't imagine stressing her out with shipping and new climate on top of everything.
Sorry, for the long story, the conclusion is this: I am looking for either a reptile rescue society WITH REFERENCES (like, one that has been used by someone on this site, or is legitimate, I will pay any adoption fee) OR someone who is willing to take her and give her a good, preferably forever, home. I do not want anyone who is simply looking for a pet, as she requires a little extra patience and care, but she is not curently in bad health, she just needs extra love and patience for feeding and an experienced keeper. If anyone can help me out, I would very much appricaite it. She can be adopted with all lights and accesories that I can provide, and an optional extra 30 gallon tank I have if needed.
