View Full Version : Savannah Monitor Enclousure
Hay Everybody. I have a question, well my savannah monior at 15 inches (male) is in a 48 x 18x 18 enclousure and I was wodering at what size Lucky (name of monitor) needs a larger cage? Also would aspen make a good supstrat?
P.S. When I feed my monitor I'll put him in a seperate container for feeding, because of two reasons... 1 - Lizard/Snake may think anything that eneters enclousure may be food. 2 - Lizard/Snake may digest bedding when eatting.
:)Thank You For Your Time:)

for now that cage will do..when hes fully grown i would suggest a 8 foot long by 4 foot wide by 4 feet high..this will give enough height for you to make a deep enough beeding for him to borrow in..it will also give him enough room to free roam.make sure u have a large water bowl like a rubbermade tub or sumthing about 3 feet long so he had lay in the water...they tend to do this alot when there sheeding but also will use it everyday to take a quick dip and cool off.

Aspen is a poor choice of substrate. It doesn't allow the lizard to dig and create tunnels, which to my knowledge, savannah's love to do.
