Yes, I am new to the forum and I just want to give everyone a little background information about myself that will give you all a better understanding about what I am all about. I live in Caledon, Ontario, I am in grade twelve, and I have worked with herps for 9 years. It all started with me going to a local pet store and wishing that one day I could own my very own newts. After much convincing to my parents and me proving myself to be responsible I got my very first newts. I was also doing field collecting of various herps at the time so they were already a big part of my life. From those humble beginnings I moved very quickly into the world of herps and since that time I have literally worked with hundreds of different species. At this time I am not working with anything because I needed to take some time off due to some health issues, but in the very near future I will be jumping head first back into it. This is a very large portion of my life and I recommend that everyone out there atleast gain some knowledge or experience with these magnificant animals that we share this planet with.

I want everyone to see the extent of my work over the past nine years. When I say worked with I do mean that I have collected a specific species, acclimated them, bred them, and raised the offspring. I started off working with Newts and Salamanders. In my years I have worked with over 20 different species of newts and salamanders. Some of the species that I have worked are Fire Salamanders, Woods Salamanders, Mandarin Newts, Marbled Newts, and many, many more. Then I also jumped into working with Frogs and Toads. My passion has always been frogs so it was only natural to work with them. I have literally worked with hundred of species of frogs and toads. I have worked with many species of mantellas, dart frogs, tomato frogs, phyllomedusa tree frogs, red eyes, green eyes, borneo eared frog, hooded toads, marine toads and many, many more. As you can see I have worked extensively with amphibians, I am very thankful for everything these majical little creatures have brought to my life.

With all the work and time that I spent with amphibians it was only natural to do the same with reptiles. Of course my ultimate passion is geckos but I have also worked with lizards, snakes, and so on. Over the past 6 years I have worked with over a hundred species of geckos, I have developed extensive breeding projects with such species as Uroplatus, Rhacodactylus, Phelsuma, Oedura, Diplodactylus, Homopholis, Gekko, Gehyra, Geckonia, Agamura, Pristurus, Teratolepis, Paroedura, Teratoscincus, Coleonyx, Stenodactylus, Cyrtodactylus, Hemitheconyx, Goniurosaurus, Chondrodactylus, Nephrurus, Underwoodisaurus, and many more. I love the look of geckos and just get so much pleasure out of working with them. I have also worked extensively with Tiliqua ( blue tongues ). I have worked with 6 different species and have had plenty of sucess with them.
These are my favorite animals of all time and I suggest that anyone into herps keeps these guys atleast once. I have also worked with dozens of species of Chameleons such as Chameleo Qudricornis, C.Paradilis, C.Melleri, C.Jacksonii Ssp, C.Montium, R.Spectrum, and so on. I have worked with a few species of Lacerta like my favorites, the giant lacerta( Lacerta Lepida )
I have worked with monitors and tegus as well. As far as monitors and tegus though I have never breed them but I have spent a lot of time and effort acclimating them. I have also worked with collard lizards, frilled dragons, water dragons, bearded dragons, uromastyx, and horny toad lizards.

Along with all the amphibians and lizards I have also worked with snakes. My favorites have always been Hognose Snakes (Heterodon Ssp) for their many pleasurable features. I have worked with breeding them and produced different colors with two different species. I also have kept their south american conterparts but I had never tried breeding them. I also love pituophis and boas. I have worked with a wide variety of boids and colubrids but I have bred very few. I also have worked with Turtles, Tortises, and Crocodilians but have never bred them.
I have worked with many different species of invertebrates and bred most of them. I have worked with vinegaroons, whiptails, scorpions, tarantulas, trap doors, stick bugs, mantids, pill bugs, millipedes, centipedes, and so on.

Well that is about as much about me as I want to share if anyone has any questions about anything at all I would like to help. I have also worked for pet stores and reptile stores for over 4 years so I do have commercial experience with products and so on. Well happy herping and happy holidays everyone.
