Your new snake likely has external parasites known as mites. I'll post a link to NIX treatment for snake mites, Mark

i went to the petstore and bought some reptile reliefe because i didn't have 30 bux for prevent-a-mite but i took tha little girl out of her cage, got a rag i sprayed with the r.r and rubed her with it then she bit me! lol, then i took out all of her branches and bedding and hide spots to soke them in the tub overnight with some bleach i took the cage and sprayed it down then staralized it with the reptile reliefe then sprayed it down after i rubed it all over, right now i have news paper in her cage, a new water bowl and a new little box for her to hide in. i'm going to redo her and the cage with more of the R.R. today then tomarow then she should be cured:) i'm glad i always wash my hands right after i handle all my snakes. other wise all my snakes would have gotten them.

If you have other snakes you should assume they have them already becasue they probably do. If this snake was even in the same part of the house prior you discovering & treating this new snake they most likely are now infested or will be. I don't think reptile relief kills mite eggs either. All it would take is for 1 gravid female mite to lay her eggs & the whole collection will be infested in no time. How long did you have this snake before it was trreated? Was it properly quaratined first or just brought into the reptile room & then you discovered it had isssues? If it or you was anywhere near the rest of the collection you had better consider starting a full treatment for all the snakes. Mark
P.S. an adult mite can travel like 8 ft an hour. If the infested snake was even in the same house overnight the mites could be everywhere already. May take a while before they build up enough for you to notice but they are likely there.
