terrified snake

I recently found my snake that was missing for months. And as expected he is quite scared and is striking at me every time i come up to his tank. And i am wondering if i should handle him right away and daily or give him a lot of time to recover and then handle him daily. If anyone can give me any advice on getting him back to his normal state i would greatly appreciate it.

Treat it as if you just brought him home, give him some time alone to calm down and get comfortable again and eating. Introduce handling slowey untill you feel hes comfortable with it again. Make ultra sure too he cant get out again.

thanks, yea i bought a new front sliding door tank. The screen tops just arent working for me.

Watch those sliding door fronts! Many can be pushed open by the snake if not locked or wedged shut. Also some have quite a large gap between the glass panels & smaller snakes can squeeze thru them easier than one would think, Mark
