how much of the top of the tank should i cover.. to many holes in the foil and the temp goes down, not enuff and i get alot of condensation...right now its condensing and only reaching abour 88-89 degrees. i am unsure what to do now? i put more holes into the foil covering the mesh top i will have to wait to see how that works...i guess

i would try just doing up all but a bit on each side of the lid so you can get a good flow of air threw that should help with the condensation and keep your temp fine

Where is the waterdish? Make sure its on the cool side and make it smaller if possible. With under tank heating there shouldnt be too big of a drop like that, I definatly suggest a good thermometer instead of a dial one to be sure your getting an accurate temp.

my thermometer is digital and i am in teh process of getting a better undertank heater and a thermostat. the temp is hanging around 85-87 at nite and around 90-94 during the day now. all i had to do is add more holes to the top of the foil. but i did have a little condnesation that i wiped out this morning but it wasnt near as bad as it was there yesterday and the day before..hardly any and it was near the water bowl. i have a very small skillet without the handle in for a water bowl cause its all i got for her thats big enuff for her to get into. and i move the heating pad over so its hardly on teh pad at all. but now the hide is on the pad so its warm in there and i misted the hide so it stays moist in there too, i just took her out today and she was warm but she has been in there for like the last day and half. so it was nice i think that she found a comfy spot to hang out. i put her in her water dish and she had a nice drink while she was in there cause teh waters cool and i guess she was thirsty. i am gonna try to feed her on tuesday evening after kyle gets paid and i can get a mouse or 2
