I have a quick question. I recently purchased an albino ball from Corey Woods, and my question is this; with my other balls, it is terribly easy to tell when they are going into shed. However, with my albino, it seems that this will be a much more difficult task, could anyone tell me what to look for or what to look out for. Thanks and Happy Holidays to all.

Here's a haphazard pic of the little guy, he's still shy...

That's a nice present to get yourself...Cory has some great...animals (I was about to say balls...lol)

I don't know about albino balls but my snow corn surprises me every time she sheds. You will eventually be able to tell they are going to shed by they way they act. Each snake is a little different but some don't eat, some get cranky, some hide and don't move much at all.

My albino corn looks dull before he sheds and his eyes still turn blue. It's just more difficult to notice, but I can usually tell.

Easy. Pink belly. You can tell everytime. Also, when you get it going at your facilities, you'll be able to read its cycles and predict when its going to shed. When you think a shed is going to happen, take a gander at the belly to see if its pink.

Mike,

I too have an albino and their is no mistaking when they go into shed. Jeff is correct about the pink belly but in addition to that they get very dull and washed out looking.

I'm interested in seeing which albino you purchased from Corey. I'm curious to know whether it is the one he produced or the one that I sold originally to him this summer (a co-production Greg Graziani/Markus Jayne).

If it is indeed him you are a lucky guy. Congratulations!

Good luck!

Mark

Mark, we've spoken, and determined that his d.o.b. was July 4th, a sib. to your male. I picked him up form Corey almost three weeks ago. (Still waiting for my pastel from Greg, I await your call to meet you at the airport). Talk to you soon.

I thought it was you!

I actually sold his sibling to a guy out west. I couldn't refuse his offer.

I only have one male left which I purchased from Morton Wright. I wanted to introduce some new blood into my project. He is pretty outstanding and I actually took some pics of him breeding for the first time the other day.

I call him a new strain of axanthic albino!

Actually I was so excited to see him breeding (he's only 6 months old) that I forgot to check the settings on my camera and it was on the black and white setting.

So to make a long story short I no longer have any of the albinos that Greg and I produced together with his albino male and my het female. (Disclaimer - this statement is not meant to be misleading in anyway. Please check with Corey for accuracy. Nowhere did I use the term "We" inorder to mislead the public.)

Sorry Mike, I just had to cover my basis.

Anyways...I spoke to Greg a few days ago and still no CITES. I'll keep you posted.

Merry Christmas!

Sorry eveyone, I don't want to make this a private-public chat with Mark, but hey Mark, I got a message from Greg a few days ago, and he told me that the Cites will be there on, or before January 7, 2003. Late Christmas present, but not diminished by the lateness at all!! Merry Christmas and Hapy New Year to all!!!
