My african fire skink is sick =[ HELP

For about the past week he has barely moved and he can only open one eye. he keeps his mouth open about 1/8 of a inch and when i put my hand in the cage his mouth snaps open. he also doesn't go under the dirt to burrow. Hes not trying to bite me because he will let me pick him up. can anyone tell me whats going on?

In order to help we need more information, mainly on how he is kept. I do suggest though a vet visit, even after telling us all that chances are the best advice we can give is to get him checked out.
