shes been reading on here that everyone thinks dremora should be eating small mice or fuzzy rats..actually shes having problems with the hopper still. but since mom thought you said the snake needed more food she put another hopper in the tank! the dremora ate it so its been feed the hopper waited 2 days and gave it another hopper..which it attacked and ate with a vengence. is it true they regurg. their food then re eat it again to digest it all the way? if so then the first one it regurges has to be thrown out and the 2nd one which needs ot come out first will be stuck in te belly? i dont wanna hurt my snake and either does my mom she ordered me a hide and a temp gauge and a book on ball pythons care ..she said she will get a mister if its needed. we couldnt find a misting hide or a humid hide so i am not sure what you were refering too. i am hoping she didnt get too big of a hide for the tank..lol !~ if so we will have to buy a smaller one~ any extra advice is helpful. our friend said my mom killed the snake by giving it that 2nd hopper!! is this true!~ if it is mom will be upset and i will strangle her!!

P.S. the snake aint dead...its just that they said it WILL die caue mom gave it that extra hopper before teh first was digested and that its still to small for bigger prey~
A ball python can handle 2 hoppers with ease. Most can take adult mice right out of the egg. The fact about regurgitation is incredibly stupid. Your snake should never regurgitate, if it does you've done something wrong.
The rest of what you said doesn't make much sense. Do some basic searching on the net for Ball python care and you should do fine.

A humid hide is basically just a hide with some damp spagnum moss inside it for humidity. Too large of a meal too soon after a previous one can cause a regurge, but another hopper 2 days later is not a cause for alarm. Mark

oh thank you so much. my mom was very upset about it. she told me she just figured from what ya'll said about it needing fuzzy rats instead of hoppers that it may still be hungry. so she fed it again. it acted hungry the way it snatched it up...lol. can someone explain about the frozen mice and rats? how does that work and will a snake ..used to wild food eat dead food? that sounds crazy to me. maybe would be better so i can stock up. i would like some advice on this subject also if you dont mind. oh i have a few other questions. i need to buy it good bedding stuff. what do you suggest is the best...i now know i need spaghnum moss..i dont want the tank to get too wet.

I'll try to answer your questions.
Firstly, substrate, you can use a lot of different things for ball pythons. Personally, when I kept them I used paper towel or newspaper. I also used lawn carpet and wood chips. It was just easier to clean with the newspaper and paper towel, or I would have kept with the wood chips.
A snake can eat thawed, dead food. Normally, what I did was toss the rat or mouse into a baggy, drop it in warm - hot water until it thawed out. Used some tongs to place in front of the snake and move it around a few times here and there to make the snake go for it.
About your snakes meal previously, it can take a larger meal. Such as an adult mouse or a really small rat. The hopper, 2 days after it ate the last one is ok! The friend who told you that information was wrong.

In my opinion Paper towel is the absolute best substrate you can use. Easy to clean (just throw it out), easy to see problems with the snake early (mites) before it becomes an infestation. You can put the water bowl on the hot side for humidity and you wont even have to spray the enclosure. Heres another thing. If you only have one hide, put it on the cold end not the hot end or 2 hides all together. I'd also recommend putting the snake inside a rubbermaid. This might sound cruel, but it isnt, they are super easy to care for if you do it this way. You can buy the shoebox sized ones at walmart and several other stores. The model number is 2221.
About the frozen food. You can buy frozen Adult Mice.. I buy like 100 for around $70.. this saves alot of money and space too since you don't need to house live mice. Just put them in your freezer (not near the food you eat for peace of mind). The thing with feeding them live is they don't know the difference. If you thaw it out in hot water, dry the mouse off, then move it around in the enclosure the snake will go after it since its warm and smells like food.
Hope this helps.
